Everybody hates White Van Man, according to a poll of UK motorists
The archetypal “white van man” is the most hated of all drivers in the UK according to a new poll of UK motorists. The survey found that van drivers were the worst on the road.
According to the people polled for the survey, young drivers were the next-worst , closely followed by older drivers and then taxi drivers and mothers on the school-run.
Those polled for the survey claimed that van drivers often went too fast on the roads, along with overtaking motorists in dangerous situations and intimidated other road users by driving too close to the vehicle in front.
In contrast, lorry drivers, bus drivers and motorcyclists were considered to be among the best drivers on the roads.
However, despite van drivers being labelled as the drivers that everybody loves to hate, another insurance company has found that van drivers know more about tyres than any other road user.
The poll found that 97% of van drivers knew how to change their tyre compared to just 76% of car drivers. And 81% knew the correct tyre pressure compared to just 20% of car drivers.
While van drivers might not be the most popular drivers on the road, it seems like they certainly know their stuff.
